Umm I haven't tested it for myself, but I think if you put it back to the english unicode then tried opening the software it would give you a title error of some kind with a bunch of jibberish. Otherwise, nothing permanent should happen that'll prevent ya from playing the game once you convert the unicode back to Japanese ^_^

I've got windows 7 64 bit I just changed it to japanese unicode whatever. Then I renamed the exe and it fixed all the errors. Now I just need to wait several years for a full english version.

It should still be quite a similar process for Vista as it is for 7. First go to the control panel, then select "Clock, Language and Region." Once inside there, go to "Regional and Language Options" and a small window should pop up with an Administration tab to click on. If you look under Administration, there should be a "Change System Locale" button under "language for non-unicode programs."

Once there, change it to Japanese and you should be set. Make sure you restart the computer before extracting it with the Japanese unicode applied, and you should be dead set. I'll be checking back to make sure it works for ya~

Bump. I really wanna play this game but i cant seem to get it it running (computer retarded-ish) i downloaded the morenatsu_taiken.zip file when when i launch the file i get an error message of some sort. mind you i'm using windows 7 32 bit if this helps at all.

This gave me some trouble as well. Fortunately, I should be able to help on this. First, go into your control panel. Then click on your clock, language and region category. After that click the region and language option. From there click on the administrative tab on the top. You should see an option called Language for non-Unicode programs about halfway down from the top. Click change system locale. Your current locale will pop up. Click the right arrow and scroll down to the Japanese (Japan) option and select it. Press OK. Your computer will prompt you to restart. Do so. When it turns back on you should be able to run the game.

If that doesn't work, you may need to unzip the rar file in the japan locale in order to run properly. I downloaded the files and unzipped the rar file while in the Japanese locale from the site though you may not need to go that far.

Quite a bit of information there but I hope this helps. Post again if it worked or not.

Thanks alot for giving me the detailed info that could have helped me loads. But for some reason my windows didn't have a japanease option in the drop down arrow. The computer I was using was a windows xp one. I'm gonna try using my windows 7 one. I'll keep you posted. Sorry, I don't use MSN. I gave that mini walkthrough under the assumption you were using 7 as I'm using 7 as well (64 bit). If it doesn't work on your 7 computer just post here, I can post a link to a place that might help with troubleshooting. It's what I used to get mine to work. I just read the comments and I figured it out.

I did Exactly what you said but i keep getting some sort of error message. i have two versions of this game and downloaded the patch for both. and tested this without the patch aswell.am i missing anything else?

some of the japanese games require you to change your systems local region to the japanese version. It is a pain, but that will solve your problem

I'm manually taking a translated script file and replacing all of the Japanese text in the game's coding. There's a FUCKLOAD of dialogue, so don't try it. I'm working on it, just be patient.

Well if you're running windows 7, that should be able to help you and it's very similar with the other operating systems as well. It took me forever to make sense out of things but then you get used to working with the Japanese text when DLing from the Sakura website. Make sure you redownload the program once in Japanese Unicode and unzip the files in this Unicode otherwise the game won't run. I haven't changed mine back to US Unicode because I haven't needed to. If you change your computer back to English the game won't work anymore until changed back to Japanese.
